The Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies is Inc.’s hallmark franchise — celebrating the most innovative, driven, adaptive privately owned, for-profit companies in the U.S. Since 2014, I’ve overseen the vetting of the Inc. 500 portion of the list for our September print issue and advised our Direct-to-Consumer department in establishing best practices for applicants. I’ve also steered editorial content and presentations of the list across platforms. Working with the Inc. 5000 has given me unique insight regarding the inner workings of private companies and the remarkable people who sacrifice time, resources, and sometimes sanity to make payroll. Their stories are the stuff of America’s greatest advantage: the drive to create something new.
